Who We Are
Partners Around the World is a non-profit organization
based in the U.S.A., with an international vision to provide
educational, social, and humanitarian aid among the poorest of the
poor.
Our mission is:
To create opportunities for the very poor in Africa to become
tomorrow's leaders and productive citizens through educational and humanitarian aid.
Partners' programs are currently functioning in various areas of Abidjan,
Ivory Coast, West Africa, giving hope for a better future
to many children, young people, and families in difficulty.
Sewing School
The sewing school, which was founded in 2000 and is located in a poor
community on the outskirts of Abidjan, has already graduated three
classes from its three-year program. There are now 38 students.
The school needs more space to accommodate more students and more sewing machines.
In 2007 Partners hopes to start construction of a new school building, which will
include a sewing production center.
Elementary Schools and Adult Literacy Programs
Partners has founded and continues to support schools for
disadvantaged students in two poor communities of Abidjan. Our two
Noah's Ark schools include one in Abidjan's shantytown called Gobelé
(one of its three classrooms pictured right) and a shack in
Biabou, which we hope to replace in 2007. Enrollment for the 2006 - 2007
school year is 284 students attending kindergarten to fifth grade.
We are proud that many who have finished the highest level of our schools
have skipped a grade when they entered public school. At least 200 kids want
to come to our schools, so it is urgent to add more classrooms at Gobelé and
build the new school at Biabou. We now have 12 teachers, a curriculum director,
and music teacher. Noah's Ark centers offer evening adult literacy classes also.
Humanitarian Aid
Partners Around the World'shumanitarian programs focus on helping the poor and needy, especially children, youth, orphans, widows, and HIV/AIDS victims in two of Abidjan's largest
communities.

a cabbage project (pictured) for a group of AIDS victims.
Our Soccer Team: Training Character
Partners supports about 100 teenage soccer players in a poor community north of Abidjan.
We're proud that these soccer players compete at the intercity level and are registered at the
national level. More than mere exercise, soccer is a very important part of their training,
teaching them teamwork.
The team relies on our support to pay for registration
fees, uniforms, transportation and other expenses. The team's coach is also one of the
elementary school teachers.
Our Workers in Africa: Helping the Poor Children
Partners Around the World now has 12 faithful teachers who are truly
devoted to sharing love with and helping others. Most of them have lived in
and are currently living in the poor areas where they are working. The
Director, Ivelta Angui, is from Brazil and is married to Pascal Angui, an Ivorian
who also helps in the enterprise.
